CORK ROLLS

Cork is from the bark of the cork oak, an evergreen plant in the beech family. Today, cork is actively used in interior decoration.

The cork has a honeycomb structure, porous. Thanks to this and the fact that each of the many micropores is impregnated with a special substance - suberin - the material is distinguished by high thermal, acoustic and vibration insulation.

Cork coverings are divided into technical and decorative. The technical plug is designed to solve problems related to heat, sound and vibration. Technical mats and boards are 2-10 mm thick, dimensions - 915x610, 960x650 mm. They can be putty, painted and glued.

Decorative cork, in addition to thermal insulation tasks, performs the function of home decoration. The material is covered with a special wax, so there is no need for additional painting or filling of such a cork.

Many advantages of cork rolls

A cork roll has many advantages. The cork can be glued to any dry, non-flowing surface made of concrete, wood, metal or solid plaster. Cork hides small irregularities and cracks in the walls well, it is suitable for all areas of the house. Cork does not burn, does not absorb odors, and does not accumulate static electricity. It can be used in offices and computer corners.
The material is environmentally friendly and anti-allergic, suitable for walls in bedrooms and children's rooms. Cork is also suitable for bathrooms and kitchens (except for thin cork wallpapers). The material tolerates moisture well, is resistant to soot and grease, does not form condensation and mold. Cork walls can be vacuumed and cleaned with a sponge using mild detergents. Tough dirt can be easily removed with a soft sandpaper. Cork is durable - wallpaper will last at least 10 years, slabs and canvases - much longer.

Manufacturers guarantee a service life of up to 20 years. Cork is the perfect wall covering. It is environmentally friendly, durable, heat and sound insulating. Moreover, it is hygienic and aesthetic. For children's rooms, as well as for people prone to allergies, cork is a solution to many problems. Kitchens, corridors and lounges, offices and offices, airports and shops - cork will decorate any room.

Cork dimensions

However, cork serves not only as an insulating layer. Today it is a beautiful finishing material. Although the natural color palette is not so diverse, the amazing cork structure is very aesthetic.

Cork rolls measure 800-1000x50-100 cm (thickness - 0.2-0.4 cm). The basis of cork rollers are pressed cork shavings, on which a cork veneer is applied. When mounting the canvas, cork glue is applied to the canvas and wall with a notched trowel. Wait a few minutes and press the canvas firmly against the wall. It takes about two days for the glue to dry completely.

Manufacturers create wallpaper and wall tiles with splashes of color, allowing you to create stunning design creations. Cork coatings might appear difficult to use due to their porous structure, but they are not. Cork has repellent and anti-condensation properties, which means that dust, dirt and mold do not accumulate on it. It is enough to wipe the walls with a damp cloth or a vacuum cleaner. Of course, with very strong wetting, the cork swells and deteriorates. However, most finishing materials have this property, but not all are resistant to mechanical damage. Even pets will not be able to spoil the cork material. This cover is quite durable.

Flexibility of cork rolls

The cork roller is resilient and flexible, has insulating properties, is wear-resistant, is naturally flame retardant and has hypoallergenic properties. In recent years, rising prices for crude oil and petroleum products have inspired contractors and the construction industry to turn to a more energy-efficient and cost-effective cork material.

Cork has a unique cellular structure in which the main ingredient is air. Due to the design of the airbag, it offers one of the highest levels of thermal insulation available.

Various types of cork materials are commonly used to insulate floors and walls, but mostly it is a cork roll. It is a more robust alternative to cork underlay and is used under floating floors to reduce noise while providing thermal and acoustic insulation between the two levels.
